Each port facility has its unique vulnerabilities and objectives. Strengthening the security of such facilities is a collaborative effort between the port management, suppliers and government agencies involved. There is no one-size-fits-all security solution.
 
Only companies with intensive experience in various security scenarios and partnerships with technical suppliers are able to develop cost-effective product platforms that could adapt to the needs of a wide range of situations.  Sometimes, a new line of products are developed for specific requests of customers.  At other times, existing features are expanded to enhance the current operation.

New software improves the efficiency of the visitor check-in process, enhance site security and manage visitor details more effectively. The system allows easy entry of visitor details through a dedicated Visitors screen, which at the same time can be used by any authorized employee to enter information about their visitors before they arrive on site. This approach can significantly reduce check-in delays, improve efficiency and enable security staff to verify a person's identity more carefully on arrival.
 
To further improve site security and accountability, specifying the name of an employee who is to escort the visitor can be made mandatory.
 
By producing visitor ID badges during the check-in process, the system may be able include information such as the visitor’s name, personal details and capture a photograph.  A refinement could be to encode the badge ID with appropriate access rights to allow entry through access-controlled doors.
 
Port security systems also provide extensive reporting capabilities where visitor transactions at access-controlled doors are recorded, and any infringements of site security are immediately reported and highlighted.
